INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2024

The theme for International Women's Day 2024 is "Inspire Inclusion".

This theme emphasises the importance of creating a world where all women, regardless of background, are valued and empowered. It's a call to action to:

  • Celebrate diversity: Recognise and appreciate the unique experiences and perspectives that women from all walks of life bring to the table.

  • Break down barriers: Challenge stereotypes and work to remove obstacles that prevent women from reaching their full potential.

  • Create inclusive environments: Foster spaces where women feel welcome, respected, and able to contribute meaningfully.

Our IWD initiative

Our goal is to showcase diverse perspectives and celebrate the achievements of women in our community.

Given our shared commitment to promoting inclusivity and recognising the achievements of remarkable women, we invited three inspiring women to participate in International Women’s Day (IWD), to respond to three thought-provoking questions.

As a women-owned SME, Istoria Group actively supports female-founded businesses in the South West through our Incubator Hub initiative. We provide resources and mentorship to help these businesses thrive, fostering social mobility and countering imbalances in opportunity and representation.

The two remarkable women we're supporting through this initiative are Devon Lowndes from Self Agency, who is dedicated to making Bristol the Neurodiversity capital of the UK, and Angela Loveridge from Better Together, who empowers parents to keep their children safe online, in keeping with their own unique parenting styles.

In addition, we asked our remarkable Group Chairwoman, Claire Menzies, to share her thoughts on encouraging inclusivity and the importance of investing in women to empower others.

We asked:

  1. What does this year's International Women's Day theme of Inspire Inclusion mean to you?

  2. Who has inspired you in your life and career, and why?

  3. What advice would you give to others about actions they can take to inspire inclusion?

We’re excited to share their responses below. Be inspired.
