We hope you enjoyed Kind + Jugend 2019. We did.
Phoenix Wharf is a creative agency and part of the Istoria Group, helping brands react to the changing environment by unshackling them from the normal ways of doing things. We view brands with a fresh outlook and apply original thinking to inspire change and deliver creative solutions.
Examples of our work at Kind + Jugend
Phoenix Wharf were there this year supporting several clients deliver a meaningful experience at their exhibition in collaboration with our sister agency Ignition. We’ve selected a few examples of our work from this year’s show below, including Elvie, Ickle Bubba and Vital Baby’s exhibitions.
Vital Baby wanted to introduce their new branding that launched earlier in the year. The new branding allowed us to create more a sophisticated look and feel to the booth, whilst still retaining some of the more playful elements that we implemented at last year’s show. One of the key differences that the client was keen to see, was an increase in the height and overall impact of the booth, which is was definitely achieved this year.
Elvie had acquired a new location for this year’s show, allowing them a bigger footprint in the hall. This new location allowed us the opportunity to introduce a bigger structure with more impactful graphics, feature curves and a central column that provided an ideal point for informal conversations about the products on the booth.
Ickle Bubba wanted to showcase their range of products in a simple and informative way. The booth featured six individual product areas, a meeting space and reception point.
Trends at Kind + Jugend this year
Our designers were at the show and they’ve provided a brief look at some of the other leading brands in this sector alongside a few exhibition design trends.
Watch our talk on the world of retail
Our Associate Creative Director, Emma Gullick headed back to Cologne to speak in the Trend Forum on how the world of retail has changed and developed over the last 12 months. Emma’s speech identified the biggest issues retailers need to concentrate on now; from the change in focus from sales to service to the further extension of the rental model. Also, the need to stand for something and have clear messaging on well-being and sustainability.
WHAT IS LIQUID RETAIL?
A brand’s ability to adapt and transform to meet customer needs in the quickest most efficient way possible. Flexibility is key. This could mean designing an exhibit space that can be re-used as a pop-up in a retail environment, or creating a flexible, scalable kit of parts that can be used as furniture, a stage, events space and retail kit. Being able to transform your space keeps it fresh and new.
